Transfer Credit to Nexford University
Undergraduate Transfer Credit
Transfer up to 75% of the total number of courses required to complete your Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree.
Graduate Transfer Credit
Transfer up to 50% of the total number of courses required to complete your Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
International Transfer Credit
Receive transfer credit for your degree-level coursework or equivalent from an international institution and earn an American BBA or MBA degree.
Internal Transfer Credit
Transfer courses from one Nexford program to another to put your credits towards a full BBA or MBA degree.
Nexford accepts transfer credit requests for learners who want to complete their BBA or MBA programs at Nexford.
Continue learning at Nexford University
If you would like to continue your learning at Nexford, you must have official transcripts sent from the issuing institution directly to Nexford University during the application process. Nexford University’s Registrar’s Office will review your official transcripts for transfer credit eligibility and determine the acceptance of transfer credits.
Nexford transfer courses on a course-by-course basis; for courses to be eligible for transfer credit, they must be awarded from a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by either:
- The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- The Department of Education (DOE/DAPIP)
- An international institution of higher education approved by the appropriate national ministry of education or recognized country equivalent
Furthermore, courses must also:
- Be at the collegiate level
- Be at least 75% equivalent content
- Be comparable in duration

Undergraduate Transfer Credit
Transferring business-related courses
When you switch to learning at Nexford, you may transfer up to 75% of the credits required for an undergraduate degree with a combination of transfer, experiential, or equivalent credits. This means you can complete your degree for much less cost & effort!
These credits must come from undergraduate courses with a grade of "C" or higher and must have been completed in the last ten years.
Transferring non-business-related courses
If your current program is not business related you can still transfer up to 30 semester credits of General Education credits into Nexford's BBA program, and up to 24 semester credits of General Education credits into Nexford's AAS program.
General Education courses may be transferred into the following categories: Written and Oral Communication, Quantitative Principles, Natural and Physical Science, Social and Behavioral Science, and Humanities and Fine Arts.
Graduate Transfer Credit
When you switch to learning at Nexford, you may transfer up to 50% of the credits required for a master's degree with a combination of transfer, experiential, or equivalent credits. This allows you to complete your MBA for much less time and money!
These credits must come from graduate courses with a grade of "B" or higher and must have been completed in the last ten years.
International Transfer Credit
When you switch to learning at Nexford, you benefit from an American-made degree with a global focus.
To receive transfer credit for degree-level coursework or equivalent from an international institution outside of the United States or Canada you must have your transcript(s) evaluated by an educational credential evaluation service that is recognized by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credentials Evaluators (AICES).
You may also use the services of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers International Education Services (AACRAO).
Internal Transfer Credit
If you would like to transfer your Nexford credits from a course or certificate program into a full degree program you may be able to do so if:
- They are “C” grade or higher when transferring into undergraduate programs
- They are “B” grade or higher when transferring into graduate programs
- They contain shared courses

I've studied before. Can I receive credit?
Starting August 1, 2022, Nexford University will begin reviewing requests from learners for transfer credit. In order for transfer credit to be awarded, an official transcript from awarding institution must be submitted for review. Learners may review the transfer credit policy and any transfer credit review fee in the University catalog.
Are Nexford courses credit-bearing?
Yes, all Nexford courses are credit bearing.
Do I need to have work experience to apply?
No. If you have work experience, that's great, but you don't need it. Nexford's programs are practical, which means you'll gain on-the-job skills while you learn.
If you do have work experience, we won't be able to offer credit just yet. We want everyone to start their program on a level playing field – that includes taking the same core courses and building the same foundational skills.
What is the transfer credit policy?

Learners may review the transfer credit policy and any transfer credit review fee, as well as all Nexford policies, including the rights, responsibilities, and obligations of learners and Nexford University, in the Nexford academic catalog.
Can I transfer credits to another university?
Want to transfer your Nexford credits elsewhere? Each university has it's own credit transfer policy, so we recommend you contact them directly as it is the decision of the receiving school if transfer credits are approved.
