The World of Business introduces the domain of business and key elements of the functional areas within the context that an organization operates. You’ll examine a variety of functional areas and types of business in order to understand their interconnectedness. Additional topics include the business cycle, global business practices, and impact on productivity.

What will I learn?
Describe the role of business in society, the core functions within a business, and internal and external forces that affect business activities and productivity
dentify the nature, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of different forms of business and organizational structure
Assess the functions, tasks, roles, and interconnectivity that each functional area performs to meet business objectives in small, medium, and multinational enterprises, including the role of SMEs (small medium enterprises) in emerging economies
Define ethics, integrity, and social responsibility in the context of business
Identify current trends and challenges faced in functional areas and in doing business globally
Apply basic business skills and concepts to a real-life business scenario
